Even though the Tri-County Academy Rebels scored an imposing 58 points on Saturday, the Copiah Academy Colonels still came out on top. Copiah Academy walked away with a 65-58 win over Tri-County Academy.
Tri-County Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Clearman, who scored 16 points along with 6 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Johnson, who scored 12 points.
Copiah Academy pushed their record up to 2-6 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Tri-County Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
Copiah Academy will head out on the road to face off against Bogue Chitto at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bogue Chitto is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Tri-County Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Carroll Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Carroll Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
