It was a good run, but the Franklin Sabers unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost to Oak Creek at home by a decisive 48-34 margin. The contest was a 21-21 toss-up at halftime, but Franklin couldn't quite close it out.
Several Sabers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lauren Capstran, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Capstran is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Meaux, who scored 11 points along with two blocks.
Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Oak Creek, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-9.
Franklin will head out on the road to face off against the Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Racine Horlick: they have been struggling with six straight losses at home, while the Sabers have snatched up three consecutive wins on the road. Oak Creek will take on the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Racine Case has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
