Mauldin has been on the road for 12 straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Hillcrest Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Mauldin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
Even though J.L. Mann scored an imposing 60 points, Mauldin still came out on top. Mauldin took their game against J.L. Mann 73-60.
Mauldin had a senior duo take command as Jordan Sullivan scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and three steals and Braden Hershberger scored 21 points along with five assists and three steals. That's the first time this season that Sullivan pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Alverez Smith, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Hillcrest's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a hard 62-47 fall against T.L. Hanna. Hillcrest has not had much luck with T.L. Hanna recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Mauldin's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Hillcrest, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.
Mauldin barely slipped by Hillcrest in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, winning 67-66. Will Mauldin repeat their success, or does Hillcrest have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
