Arcola had a rough outing against Argenta-Oreana last Friday, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Arcola dodged a bullet on Friday, finishing off Decatur Lutheran/Decatur Christian 37-36. The high-flying offensive effort was a definite turnaround from Arcola's flat performance the match before.
Arcola's offense rushed out of the gates and came up with 24 first-half points. Decatur Lutheran/Decatur Christian wasn't quite able to keep up, scoring 22 to make it 24-22 heading into the break. Arcola almost let the contest get away from them in the second half, but they had just enough oomph to take it. The victory bumped their record up to 6-2. The loss dropped Decatur Lutheran/Decatur Christian back to even at 4-4.
Arcola will stay at home next week against Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland at 7:00 PM. Decatur Lutheran/Decatur Christian will take on Martinsville at home at 7:00 PM. Martinsville are limping into the game on a seven-game losing streak.
