The Flatirons Academy Bison fell victim to the Highland Huskies''s stalwart defense on Saturday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Huskies, falling 52-0. Flatirons Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Highland apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Issac Desantiago was on fire for Highland: he rushed for 147 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries, and also picked up 65 receiving yards. Desantiago was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 65 yards. John Bingley was another key contributor, throwing for 161 yards and three touchdowns on only seven passes.
Flatirons Academy now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Highland, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-4.
Flatirons Academy will head out on the road to face off against Estes Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Estes Park is ranked 169th, while Flatirons Academy is ranked 186th). As for Highland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Manual at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Manual is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
