Ahnica Russell-brown was her usual excellent self, scoring 16 points. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kenzie Melcher, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Papillion-LaVista's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 53-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lincoln Southeast.
Bellevue West has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Papillion-LaVista, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.
Bellevue West didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Papillion-LaVista in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 64-58 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Papillion-LaVista's Mia Slizinski, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds.
