Aurora Christian moved up to 85 from 124 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Suburban Christian - Blue. The Eagles climbed the ranks as a result of topping IC Catholic Prep 24-3.
Montini added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Morgan Park, 43-6. This was the team's 10th consecutive win.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Marian Central Catholic's Billy Bahl and Brett Olson have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-3 quarterback Bahl has thrown for 2,326 yards this season, while Olson has 45 catches for 928 yards. Davontae Elam from St. Edward leads the league in rushing with 1,224 yards.
The Hurricanes' Olson is only 72 receiving yards away from breaking 1,000 receiving yards this season as he enters this week's game against the Montini. So far this year, he has garnered 45 catches for 928 yards.
Ephraim Lee of the Marian Central Catholic is just 3 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 152 carries Lee has accumulated 997 yard this year.
Two of the top units in Suburban Christian - Blue will face off this week when Ed Brucker's team takes on the Broncos. The Hurricanes' offense has scored 326 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while Montini has allowed only 97 on the year.
Fans will be treated to a premier battle in the secondary when Marian Central Catholic's Olson goes up against the Broncos' Josh Belt.
Next week's game between the Hurricanes and Montini will feature a good passing match up as Bahl will test his arm against Belt's defensive ability.
The Broncos are in first place, while Marian Central Catholic is in third place.
There should be lots of points scored when Montini and the Hurricanes face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Broncos comes in having scored 289 this season, while Marian Central Catholic has scored 326. Montini scored 43 points last week as it beat the Mustangs.
Marmion Academy took down Fenton 39-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
