The Nordheim Pirates can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They walked away with a 53-45 victory over Pettus. The win was just what Nordheim needed coming off of a 94-54 defeat in their prior game.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nathan Orr, who scored 14 points. Desmond Montoya was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Nordheim's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-9. As for Pettus, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-14.
Nordheim will head out on the road to take on Austwell-Tivoli at 7:20 p.m. on Friday. Austwell-Tivoli knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Nordheim likes a good challenge. As for Pettus, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Moulton at 7:30 p.m. Moulton is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
