It was a good run, but the Northview Vikings unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Saturday. They lost to Chino Hills on the road by a decisive 56-41 margin. While losing is never fun, Northview can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 379th, while Chino Hills is ranked 140th).
Northview's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adrian Almaraz, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Osi, who scored 9 points along with 8 rebounds.
Northview's defeat dropped their record down to 6-1. As for Chino Hills, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
Northview will head out on the road to face off against Sierra Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Sierra Vista focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Saturday. As for Chino Hills, they will be playing at home against Chino at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Chino's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games.
