The Denver South Ravens pushed their score all the way to 56 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 60-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rangeview. Denver South has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Denver South's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Nevaeh Millard, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds, and Dylan Moyer who scored 11 points. Alex Gehring was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Rangeview's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Paige Boectther led the charge by scoring 21 points along with three steals. It was the first time this season that Boectther scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of D'ajha Horton, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds.
Denver South dropped their record down to 11-10 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Rangeview, their win bumped their record up to 9-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Denver South will take on Regis Groff at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rangeview, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Vista PEAK Prep at 7:30 p.m. Vista PEAK Prep will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something Rangeview surely won't give up without a fight.
