The Berea-Midpark Titans put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 63-51 win over Avon Lake. For Berea-Midpark, this counts as revenge for the 60-57 defeat Avon Lake walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Berea-Midpark was led to victory by Austin Clay and Devyn Zahursky. Clay scored nine points along with seven assists and six rebounds, while Zahursky dropped a double-double on ten points and 20 rebounds. Those 20 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan (diggy) Maddox, who scored nine points.
Berea-Midpark's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Avon Lake, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Berea-Midpark will be home for the holidays to greet Steele at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Steele will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while Berea-Midpark is ranked 35th). As for Avon Lake, they will head out on the road to face off against Midview at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
