The Central Hawks suffered their biggest defeat since December 19, 2023 on Saturday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 73-51 walloping at the hands of Randolph-Clay. Central just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.
Several Hawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Demarcus White, who scored 15 points. Joshua Seldon was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Randolph-Clay was led to victory by Jaleen Gibson and Je'Sus Daniels. Gibson scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and six assists, while Daniels dropped a double-double on 29 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Daniels has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tyrion Smith, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Central dropped their record down to 9-10 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Randolph-Clay, their victory bumped their record up to 13-7.
Central will head out on the road to square off against Macon County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Randolph-Clay, Randolph-Clay and Quitman County will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
