Baseball Recap: Marmion Has No Trouble Against Leo

Marmion won the last time they faced Leo and things went their way on Monday too. The Cadets were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over the Lions. Considering the Cadets have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Jack Hughes and Ben Gudenrath dominated on the mound. Hughes tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits, while Gudenrath pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Matthew Tulley was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. Emmit Collins was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Marmion always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. The last time their OBP was this high was April 1st.

Marmion has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-8-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Leo, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-10.

Marmion will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lions: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
