Immanuel Baptist pushed their score all the way to 62 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Bethany Christian 68-62.
Meanwhile, Faith Christian entered their tilt with State Line Christian with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Faith Christian was the clear victor by a 53-27 margin over State Line Christian. Faith Christian's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Faith Christian can attribute much of their success to Paul Thompson, who scored 18 points. Thompson continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jack Coplen, who scored 11 points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
Immanuel Baptist's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Faith Christian, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-2.
Immanuel Baptist came up short against Faith Christian in their previous matchup last Tuesday, falling 47-36. Can Immanuel Baptist avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
