They walked away with a 72-62 victory over Lewis County. Given Wayne County's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while Lewis County is ranked 314th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wayne County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cayman Camfield, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cooper Shamer, who scored 18 points along with 7 rebounds.
Wayne County's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Lewis County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
Wayne County will head out on the road to face off against East Hickman County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. East Hickman County will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Lewis County will take on Collinwood at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Collinwood comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
