Grand Island was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 28-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lincoln East Spartans. The Islanders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2019.
Despite the defeat, Grand Island had strong showings from Gavin Semm, who threw for 157 yards and two touchdowns, and Nelsyn Wheeler, who rushed for 152 yards.
