The Marathon Dolphins's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. 2024 welcomed they with a 88-67 loss courtesy of Goleman. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Thursday (57), Marathon still had to take the loss.
Marathon's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was ADRIAN CRUZ, who scored 22 points along with three steals. CRUZ scored a full 32.8% of Marathon's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of DAESHAWN HOLMES, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Goleman can attribute much of their success to Albert Guerra, who scored 22 points. That's the first time this season that Guerra scored 15 or more points. Anthony Otero-Puriaman was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Marathon has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for Goleman, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.
