The Rolla Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Waynesville Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Rolla will be looking to keep their 13-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Last Monday, Rolla strolled past Bolivar with points to spare, taking the game 65-49. Given Rolla's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while Bolivar is ranked 122nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Rolla's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kori Alcorn, who scored ten points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Alcorn has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Resa Martin was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Waynesville's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight defeat. They took a 57-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Plains. Waynesville has struggled against West Plains recently, as their contest on Monday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Rolla's victory bumped their record up to 18-2. As for Waynesville, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.
Rolla strolled past Waynesville in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a score of 57-40. Will Rolla repeat their success, or does Waynesville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
