Doane Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 69-61 to Trenton Catholic Academy. Doane Academy has not had much luck with Trenton Catholic Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Several Doane Academy players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nick Fusco, who scored 20 points along with six assists. Fusco hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. Hiatt Smith was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with eight rebounds.
Doane Academy bumped their record down to 3-10 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Trenton Catholic Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
Doane Academy will be playing at home against Northern Burlington at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Trenton Catholic Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Cinnaminson at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Jersey (Cinnaminson is ranked 77th, while Trenton Catholic Academy is ranked 92nd).
