Meanwhile, Cardinal Mooney entered their tilt with Saint Stephen's Episcopal on Thursday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. Kaitlyn Will made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. In other batting news, Cardinal Mooney let Ava Proffitt and Olivia Lockhart run wild. Proffitt scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Lockhart went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run marked the first that Lockhart launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Michele Will, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Cardinal Mooney's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-2. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 11.33 hits in those games compared to only 5.33 in the others. As for Booker, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Booker has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .742. However, it's not like Cardinal Mooney struggles in that department as they've averaged .440. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
