Sarah Kidman was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Carlie Hurd was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Meanwhile, Bonneville also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Pocatello by a score of 11-8. The Bees haven't had much luck with the Thunder recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.
Gracie Longhurst was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and seven unearned) runs off eight hits. Longhurst was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI.
In other batting news, Alli Sutherland made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Paisley Bowler, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Shelley's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 12-6. Those home defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Bonneville, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.
Wednesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Shelley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .316. However, it's not like Bonneville struggles in that department as they've averaged .339. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Shelley beat Bonneville 8-4 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Russets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bees turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
