The Governor's School for Science & Math Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 77-7 loss at the hands of McBee. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Governor's School for Science & Math has scored all season.
Tyrek Wright was his usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals for McBee. Jasson Brockington was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Governor's School for Science & Math dropped their record down to 1-5 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.7 points per game. As for McBee, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Governor's School for Science & Math will take on Great Falls at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Great Falls knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully Governor's School for Science & Math likes a good challenge. As for McBee, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Riverwalk Academy at 7:30 p.m. Riverwalk Academy is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
