The Sebastian River Sharks will challenge the Okeechobee Brahmans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Sebastian River is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They came out on top against South Fork by a score of 9-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Sharks.
Peyton Landers was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jake Cavill, who went 1-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Sebastian River's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 7-9-1 when he doesn't). Keaton Thimmer also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Meanwhile, Okeechobee got the win against Heritage on Wednesday by a conclusive 11-1. The victory continues a trend for the Brahmans in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won three in a row.
Aaron White tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.
On the hitting side, Okeechobee got a massive performance out of Carsen Williams, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Brad Phillips, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Okeechobee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Heritage only posted a batting average of .050.
Sebastian River now has a winning record of 10-9-1. As for Okeechobee, their record is now 16-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Sebastian River has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Okeechobee struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Sebastian River suffered a grim 13-3 defeat to Okeechobee in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Sharks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
