The biggest upset of the week belonged to Dana Hills, who took down 137th ranked Aliso Niguel, 20-18. Brian Scott ran for 217 yards in the win.
The Dolphins' Scott rumbled for the longest rushing play in Sea View this season in his game against the Wolverines last week.
San Juan Hills's dynamic duo of Jacob Gibson and Kyle Mucerino proved tough for Laguna Hills to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Gibson threw for 215 yards and one touchdown and Mucerino had 91 yards receiving. Scott Hoover helped San Juan Hills' passing attack out by catching eight balls for 67 yards.
6-foot-4 quarterback Nathan Cole of Aliso Niguel is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1925. He has also thrown 27 touchdowns. On the ground, Dana Hills' Marcus Hughes has rushed for 511 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Mucerino. The San Juan Hills star has 38 catches for 696 yards.
Entering into this week's contest against the Hawks, Cole is short just 75 passing yards to break 2,000 on the season.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Wolverines take on Laguna Hills. Aliso Niguel's offense has racked up 259 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Bruce Ingalls' team has allowed only 84 on the year.
A big matchup in Sea View this week will be when the Wolverines take on the Hawks. As it stands, Aliso Niguel is in third, while Laguna Hills is in fourth.
The Dolphins moved up to 291 from 343 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. A 20-18 win over the Wolverines helped Dana Hills improve its standing.
