Alpine had won six straight home games dating back to last season and Gyllian Morrissey did her part to make it seven on Tuesday. The Alpine Bucks came out on top against the Kermit Yellow Jackets by a score of 66-59 thanks in part to Morrissey, who went 10 for 22 on her way to 26 points along with eight steals and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Colette Fowlkes was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 19 boards. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down 13 or more in the last three games she's played.

When it comes to explaining why Kermit lost, don't look at Ebbin Mallory. Despite the final result, she went 5 of 8 en route to 17 points in addition to six boards and four steals. Aleixa Lara also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Alpine has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Kermit, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 12-7.

Alpine has already played their next matchup, a 51-31 win against Balmorhea on the 24th. Kermit has also already played their next game (against Anthony), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
