The Lakeland Christian Academy Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. The contest between Lakeland Christian Academy and Northfield wasn't particularly close, with Lakeland Christian Academy falling 49-34. That's two games in a row now that Lakeland Christian Academy has lost by exactly 15 points.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Katie Reimink, who scored 16 points along with five steals. Reimink is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dayton Sibert, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Leading Northfield to victory were Elli Baker and Hannah Holmes. Baker scored 12 points, while Holmes dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Callie Hoffman was another key contributor, scoring five points along with seven rebounds.
Lakeland Christian Academy's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 9-11. As for Northfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-10 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakeland Christian Academy will take on Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lakeland Christian Academy in Indiana (Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian is ranked 132nd, while Lakeland Christian Academy is ranked 361st). Northfield won't have much time to rest: their next match is against North Miami at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. Hopefully North Miami focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Wednesday.
