Anthony Wayne gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 61-21 win over Southview.
Anthony Wayne's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Elise Bender, who scored 19 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals, and Leah Pike, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Bender, who scored 6 points along with 4 steals.
Meanwhile, Ross earned a 53-41 win over Northview on Tuesday.
Anthony Wayne's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Ross, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Anthony Wayne came up short against Ross in their previous matchup back in February, falling 51-42. Can Anthony Wayne avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
