1. Trinity (Louisville)
2013-14 record: 30-5
Head coach: Mike Szabo

The ‘Rocks are led by two of the state's top 12 seniors, according to kyprepshoops.com, in 6-foot-10 power forward/post Raymond Spalding and 6-3 shooting guard D'Angelo West. Spalding, a Louisville signee, is ranked the top player in Kentucky and No. 22 recruit overall (No. 7 power forward). Trinity reached the state semifinals last season and has gone a combined 93-14 the last three seasons with a state crown in 2012.

2. Ballard (Louisville)
2013-14 record: 29-6
Head coach: Chris Renner

Corey Douglas, a 6-6 senior frontliner, leads the Bruins, who were the state's top ranked team until losing 59-58 in the Seventh Region final to Trinity. Malik Dow, a 6-3 junior, and Jalen Perry, a 6-2 senior guard, are returning players in Ballard's rotation. Ballard is looking for its fourth state title but first since 1999. The Bruins have won at least 24 games every season since 2008-09.

3. Scott County (Georgetown)
2013-14 record: 35-4
Head coach: Billy Hicks

Isaiah Johnson, a 6-3 senior, leads the defending state finalist, which lost in the finals to Covington Catholic, 59-51. Hines Jones, a 6-2 senior, and 7-1 junior Raekwon Long are other key returners for the Cardinals, who are seeking a third state title and first since 2007.

4. Rowan County (Morehead)
2013-14 record: 21-11
Head coach: Shawn Thacker

The Vikings are led by the duo of 6-foot senior shooting guard Ryne Callahan and 6-3 sophomore Hudson Pratt (6-3). Callahan led the team last year by scoring 18.1 points per game. Larry Whelan (10.5 ppg) and Justin Graham (8.9) are other key contributors.

5. Dixie Heights (Edgewood)
2013-14 record: 26-8
Head coach: Ken Chevalier

The Colonels graduated just three of their 13-man roster last season and are led by Austin Schreck and Drew Moore.
