Easton Area is 1-6 against Parkland since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Easton Area Rovers will look to defend their home court against the Parkland Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Easton Area can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They came out on top against Bethlehem Catholic by a score of 43-31.
Easton Area's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryan Cornish, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremy Henry, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Parkland had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 69-43 margin over Pleasant Valley. Given Parkland's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Pleasant Valley is ranked 462nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Easton Area's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Parkland, they pushed their record up to 10-3 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
Easton Area might still be hurting after the 66-44 loss they got from Parkland when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Easton Area avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
