Wolsey-Wessington added to the longest winning streak in 281 (9 Man) this week by beating Northwestern Area, 42-6. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Sunshine Bible Academy took down Highmore/Harrold 42-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Seth Buer ran for 96 yards during the win.
Wolsey-Wessington's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Ryne Johnson contributed 172 yards.
Lorenzo Williams provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Gordon Hooks' team topped the Wildcats.
Johnson was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 16 carries, he ran for 172 yards as the Warbirds bested Northwestern Area. Williams also contributed to the rushing game with 177 yards on the ground.
Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central's Joe Davis and Austin Messmer led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Davis has thrown for 376 yards this season, while Messmer has 9 catches for 185 yards. Johnson from Wolsey-Wessington leads the league in rushing with 1,002 yards.
The Crusaders are in fourth place, while Hitchcock-Tulare is in second place.
