Basketball Game Preview: Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles vs. North Augusta Yellow Jackets

The Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles will take on the North Augusta Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Gray Collegiate Academy comes in on five and North Augusta on 16.

Gray Collegiate Academy is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Midland Valley: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Gray Collegiate Academy blew Midland Valley out of the water with an 88-50 final score. Levi Ball and Lamont (Lj) Britt were among the main playmakers for Gray Collegiate Academy as the former dropped a double-double on 17 points and 17 rebounds and the latter went 6 for 10 on his way to 18 points in addition to six assists and six boards. Those 17 rebounds gave Ball a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Rowe, who went 5 of 7 en route to 13 points.

Gray Collegiate Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 3.5 offensive boards per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 9.5.

Meanwhile, North Augusta blew past Midland Valley, posting a 74-40 win. The Yellow Jackets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Gray Collegiate Academy has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points per game. As for North Augusta, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-0.
