Basketball Recap: Henry-Senachwine Sets Scoring Season-High Against Mt. Pulaski

Henry-Senachwine and Mt. Pulaski squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Henry-Senachwine had to settle for second. They fell to the Mt. Pulaski Hilltoppers 80-74. One positive for the Mallards, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Henry-Senachwine's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaitlyn Anderson, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 18 boards. Anderson has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played. Harper Schrock was another key player, dropping a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Henry-Senachwine was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Henry-Senachwine's loss dropped their record down to 15-17. As for Mt. Pulaski, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.

Henry-Senachwine does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mt. Pulaski, they are taking a road trip to square off against Roanoke-Benson at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Roanoke-Benson is on a five-game streak of home wins, Mt. Pulaski a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
