Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask North Union). They took their  matchup  on Friday with ease, bagging  a  48-14 victory over the Shawnee Braves. The  contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached  41-7.
North Union had a senior duo take command as  Nick Vanhoose rushed for 151 yards and three  TDs on only 11 carries and  Griffin Osborne rushed for 118 yards and a pair of  scores on only 11 carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 86 yards. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget  Jaxon Heminger, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.
 North Union's run defense was locked in: Shawnee could only muster one yards per carry. The team can thank  Kadrin Riffle for the heroic effort on defense: he. Those  victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 30.0 points over those games. As for Shawnee,  they are  on  a  16-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.
