The Shasta Wolves lost against the Pleasant Valley Vikings back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Shasta fell 57-44 to Pleasant Valley. It was the first time this season that Shasta let down their fans at home.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pleasant Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cam Bussey, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Malakai Piper, who scored nine points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Shasta's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-10. As for Pleasant Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.
Shasta will head out on the road to square off against Enterprise at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Enterprise focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Thursday. As for Pleasant Valley, they will be playing at home against Chico at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Chico has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
