The Springfield Tigers will square off against the Sleepy Eye Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are still undefeated (Springfield has seven wins , while Sleepy Eye has eight dating back to last season).
On Thursday, Springfield made easy work of Wabasso and carried off a 14-4 win. Considering the Tigers have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Springfield let Madden Lendt and Aiden Moriarty run wild. Lendt went 2-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI, while Moriarty went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those four runs gave Lendt a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Adiel Trevino, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Springfield hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive contests.
Sleepy Eye came out on top against Minnesota Valley Lutheran on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run second inning. The Indians' pitcher stepped up to hand the Chargers a 13-0 shutout. The Indians are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the fourth game they've won by 6+ runs this season.
Karter Haala made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jacob Fulmer. was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Kayden Klein, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Springfield's record is now 7-0. As for Sleepy Eye, their record now sits at 8-0.
Monday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Springfield has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .521. However, it's not like Sleepy Eye struggles in that department as they've averaged .463. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Springfield's way against Sleepy Eye in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Springfield made off with a 15-2 victory. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
