Woodlan hasn't had much luck against Adams Central recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Warriors will host the Jets at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Woodlan turned things around against Southern Wells on Thursday. They never let the Raiders get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. The Warriors not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 8th (when they won 10-0).
Malakai Yates made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Yates was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Evan Koch, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was James Goldin, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Adams Central narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past South Adams 5-4. The win continues a trend for the Jets in their matchups with the Starfires: they've now won nine in a row.
Max Byerly was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Hayden Bluhm was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Adams Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Adams Central's victory bumped their record up to 5-11-1. As for Woodlan, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 7-8.
