Stratford Freshman Pours it on
It may not take a decade for somebody to press the state scoring record after all. Stratford freshman Dalen Qualls is averaging 28.1 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game this season for the Class 2A Bulldogs. Qualls is just 5-foot-11, another smaller scoring machine.
His coach, like Page and Clarke, is a close relation. Mark Qualls, his father, is the head coach of the Bulldogs. Page plays for his father at Pawnee, while Clarke plays for his uncle at Verdigris. The Bulldogs opened the postseason with a 75-63 loss to Latta, with Qualls scoring 41 points.
In comparison, Page averaged 21 points per game as a freshman, while Clarke averaged around 20. Stratford is 17 miles West of Ada, or 74 miles southwest of Oklahoma City, for future reference.
