Make it four blowout wins for Columbia Independent this season. They were the clear victor by a 47-25 margin over Lighthouse Prep Academy. Winning may never get old, but Columbia Independent sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Columbia Independent to victory, but perhaps none more so than Eric Dirksmeyer, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Bach, who scored 14 points.
Lighthouse Prep Academy lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Grant King, who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Jonah Taggart, who scored eight points.
Columbia Independent's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Lighthouse Prep Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.
Columbia Independent won't have much time to rest: their next game is against La Monte at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Missouri (La Monte is ranked 454th, while Columbia Independent is ranked 438th). As for Lighthouse Prep Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Heritage Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Heritage Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
