The South Cougars lost against the Junction City Bluejays back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. South was the victim of a tough 66-41 loss at the hands of Junction City. South has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
South's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gavin Devoe, who scored 15 points along with 8 rebounds. Sawyer Walker was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
South's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Junction City, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South will take on Salina Central at TBD on Friday. Salina Central and South are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Junction City, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hays at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
