Volleyball Game Preview: Creekside Knights vs. Tocoi Creek Toros

Creekside has gone a perfect 7-0 against Tocoi Creek recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. Creekside is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Creekside extended their home winning streak to 11 games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Scott Miller. Creekside came out on top against Nease by a score of 3-1 last Wednesday with plenty of help from Miller, who had 19 digs and seven assists. That's the most assists he has posted since back in May of 2024.

Creekside got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 29-31, 25-20, 25-21.

St. Augustine came into Thursday's game looking for another win against Tocoi Creek, but Roberto Orellana wouldn't allow it. Tocoi Creek skirted past St. Augustine 3-2 for which the team can thank Orellana, who had six digs and six aces. Orellana is also crushing it when it comes to assists: he's posted at least 12 every time he's taken the court this season.

Tocoi Creek wouldn't go down easily and took St. Augustine into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 21-25, 23-25, 25-23, 15-13.

Creekside's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Tocoi Creek, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Creekside took their victory against Tocoi Creek in their previous matchup on March 7th by a conclusive 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Creekside since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
