Hudson is 8-2 against Cairo-Durham since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bluehawks will host the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. Hudson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
Hudson's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over Catskill. The victory continues a trend for the Bluehawks in their matchups with the Cats: they've now won four in a row.

Gannon Logue made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with three runs and one stolen base. Hudson is 10-1 when Logue posts two or more runs, but 0-6 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Trent Keller, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Hudson's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-7 when he doesn't). Kam Duntz was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.
Meanwhile, Cairo-Durham was able to grind out a solid win over Germantown on Wednesday, taking the game 6-3.
Like Hudson, Cairo-Durham also got a great game from a two-way player: Jake Young. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Young has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Young wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Michael Pernice, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Cairo-Durham's victory bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Hudson, their win bumped their record up to 10-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Hudson has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Cairo-Durham struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Hudson couldn't quite get it done against Cairo-Durham in their previous meeting back in April as they fell 4-0. Will the Bluehawks have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
