Hall is on a seven-game streak of home losses, and Orion an eight-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Hall Red Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Orion Chargers at 4:30 p.m. Hall will be strutting in after a victory while Orion will be coming in after a loss.
Hall is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Fieldcrest on Wednesday as they made off with a 20-5 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Red Devils as it spelled an end to their 13-game losing streak.
Brynn Blair made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. Blair was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Caroline Morris was a standout: she got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Haven Rossi was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Hall always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Orion scored first but ultimately less than Sterling in their contest on Wednesday. They lost 14-5 to the Golden Warriors.
Avah Jones was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double. That double was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Khloe Nelson, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles.
Orion's defeat dropped their record down to 9-23. As for Hall, their win bumped their record up to 5-23.
Hall suffered a grim 15-1 defeat to Orion in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Red Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
