Bangor is 0-4 against Cassopolis since May of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. The Vikings will square off against the Rangers at 4:30 p.m. Bangor is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
On Thursday, Bangor made easy work of Ottawa Hills and carried off a 12-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won 12 contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Terrance Payne made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Bangor is 6-1 when Payne posts two or more stolen bases, but 11-14 otherwise.
In other batting news, Julian Pullins was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Webb, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.
Bangor always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ottawa Hills only posted an OBP of .385.
New Buffalo hit Cassopolis with a four-run fourth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rangers lost 8-0 to the Bison. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Rangers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Bangor's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-15. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Cassopolis, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.
Bangor suffered a grim 14-1 defeat to Cassopolis when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
