Peebles has been on the road for six straight, but on Saturday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Southeastern Panthers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Peebles focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Wednesday.
Peebles stacked a fourth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard. They really took it to Green for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-20 victory on the road. Given Peebles' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 159th, while Green is ranked 519th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Payton Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Peebles' points. Angel Gray was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Southeastern ended up a good deal behind Adena on Friday and lost 56-39. Southeastern has struggled against Adena recently, as their contest on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Peebles' victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. As for Southeastern, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.
Peebles beat Southeastern 54-42 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Will Peebles repeat their success, or does Southeastern have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
