Basketball Recap: Redlands East Valley's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Friday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Alta Loma, Redlands East Valley was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Riverside Prep Silver Knights by a score of 63-52. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 394th, while the Silver Knights are ranked 1014th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Demaj Moore continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 of 14 on his way to 16 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. The contest was his ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amari Smith, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 15 points.

Redlands East Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Redlands East Valley's record now sits at 9-7. As for Riverside Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Redlands East Valley Wildcats duke it out with the Bosco Tech Tigers at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Redlands East Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.1 points per game this season. As for Riverside Prep, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Norco at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
