On Wednesday, it was a hard-fought match, but Lanier had to settle for a 49-46 defeat against Brookhaven.
Jaylen Haliburton was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with five steals for Brookhaven. The game was Haliburton's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Nicholas Gamble was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds.
Lanier has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Brookhaven, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.
Lanier will look to defend their home court on January 5, 2024 against Wingfield at 7:30 p.m. Brookhaven won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Murrah at 2:00 p.m. on December 28th. Murrah is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
