Tri-Valley recap October 1, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in Tri-Valley this week, Williams Valley beat Halifax 55-6. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Juniata was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from ninth to seventh in the league. Earlier in the week, the Indians defeated East Juniata 47-44.
David Brantley provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Tigers fell to Juniata. He completed 5 passes for 111 yards and also ran for 166 yards. Brantley's favorite target this week was Kevin Allen, who caught 2 passes for 68 yards.
Stephen Sedesse threw for 184 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was 5-6 with 0 interception.
Chad Eberle was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 167 yards on 17 carries as Gary Klingensmith's team bested the Wildcats. Teammate Ty Treaster added to the ground attack by rushing for 105 yards.
Leading Tri-Valley in both passing and receiving yards, Tim Savage's team's Sedesse and Miller have proven to be a lethal combination. Sedesse has thrown for 1,035 yards this season, while Miller, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 22 catches for 615 yards. Tri-Valley's Hunter Harner leads the league in rushing yards with 675.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Pine Grove takes on the Vikings. As it stands, the Cardinals are in third, while Williams Valley is in first.
Pine Grove moved up to 269 from 324 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Jeff Sampson's team climbed the ranks as a result of topping Millersburg 42-7.
