The Massaponax Panthers will square off against the James Monroe Yellow Jackets at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. James Monroe took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Massaponax, who comes in off a win.
Massaponax is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against Brooke Point by a score of 9-4 on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their nine-game losing streak.

Jaxon Beasley and Austin Elliott made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Beasley tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Meanwhile, Elliott pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. What's more, Beasley posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. At the plate, Beasley went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Elliott went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ethan Greene, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high.
Meanwhile, James Monroe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 15-5 to Maggie Walker.
Jordan Hardison was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. He has become a key player for James Monroe: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 2-9 otherwise. Donya Johns Jr also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-16-1. As for James Monroe, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.
Massaponax took their win against James Monroe in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 8-0 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Yellow Jackets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
