It was a good run, but the Mt. Zion Prep Academy Warriors unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 74-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of Shining Star Sports Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Mt. Zion Prep Academy still got an impressive performance from Jniya Weaver, who scored 30 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Makyiah Ward, who scored 14 points.
Mt. Zion Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Shining Star Sports Academy, they pushed their record up to 15-2 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing TPLS Christian Academy the next time they take the court. Mt. Zion Prep Academy will host TPLS Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Shining Star Sports Academy will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
