Week 6 of the Wisconsin high school football season is here and we are putting the spotlight on the biggest games.
Week 7 games to watch
Friday, 7 p.m. The top 10 showdown features Classic Eight programs that posted shutout wins last week. The top-ranked Arrowhead Warhawks are coming off a 38-0 victory over Oconomowoc. Junior quarterback
Nolan Hanson completed 13 of 21 passes for 200 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Warhawks. Two of Hanson's touchdown passes went to senior wide receiver
Ryan Heiman, who finished the game with five catches for 69 yards, while junior
Logan Crowley pulled in four receptions for a team-high 75 yards. On the defensive side of the ball, senior linebacker
Brendan Foley, an Army commit, finished with nine tackles (8 solo), including two sacks for Arrowhead. Mukwonago cruised to a 42-0 victory against Pewaukee in Week 6. The Indians had two players go over 100 yards rushing; senior
Colton Lynch tallied 175 yards on 18 carries with two touchdowns, while junior
Jerell Anderson totaled 104 yards on 11 carries with two scores. Defensively, senior linebacker
Noah Dodds recorded a team-best 7.5 tackles (5 solo). The teams met twice last season. Arrowhead topped Mukwonago 29-27 in their regular-season meeting, and Mukwonago won in the playoffs 17-6.
No. 4 Neenah (5-1) at No. 10 Kimberly (5-1)Friday, 7 p.m Another top 10 matchup, this one between FVA squads. In Week 6, Neenah topped No. 19 Appleton North 29-27 behind the legs of junior quarterback
Ashton VanBeek, who finished with 184 yards on 24 carries and scored three touchdowns. The Rockets' defense was led by junior linebacker
Connor Stuckel, who had nine tackles (7 solo). In Kimberly's 41-7 win over Hortonville last week, the Papermakers had seven players with at least two carries, led by senior
Kegan Pleau, who finished with 11 carries for 91 yards and two touchdowns. Senior quarterback
Cam Wong accounted for two touchdowns, running for 69 yards and a touchdown, and went six of nine passing for 55 yards and a score. Kimberly's defense was paced by junior
Reid Lindenberg, who finished with seven tackles (all solo), including one for a loss. Neenah defeated Kimberly twice last season, 29-28 in their conference meeting and 34-14 in the postseason.
Sun Prairie East (4-2) at No. 9 Waunakee (6-0)Friday, 7 p.m.
Waunakee is the last unbeaten team left in the Badger Large Conference and has outscored its previous three opponents 159-33, including a 52-20 win over Oregon last week. The Warriors' only close game this season was a 14-13 victory against Monona Grove. Sun Prairie East is coming off a 21-16 setback to Monona Grove. Junior quarterback
Braylon Peterson went 14 of 22 for 197 yards and two touchdowns for the Cardinals, with seniors wideouts
Jacoby Moore (97 yards) and
Van Vogler (88 yards) each with a score. Vogler also had two interceptions on defense. Senior linebacker
Hudson Turek tallied 10 tackles (9 solo), including three for a loss. Last season, Waunakee topped Sun Prairie East 21-17.
River Falls (5-1) at Rice Lake (6-0)Friday, 7 p.m. - Tickets via GoFanRice Lake is the last remaining unbeaten team in Big Rivers Conference play. The Warriors topped New Richmond 26-23 last week with senior quarterback
Grant Pacholke accounting for four touchdowns. He passed for 154 yards (6-10) and two touchdowns and ran for 64 yards and two scores. Senior running back
Aaron Hoffman had a 66-yard touchdown reception, while senior receiver
Will Svendsen caught the other score. Svendsen also had 6.5 tackles (4 solo). Another key contributor for the Warriors was senior running back
Jack Larson, who tallied 98 yards on 21 carries. River Falls defeated previously-undefeated Hudson 44-21 last week, behind the running of senior
Joseph Tarasewicz, who piled up 218 yards on 38 carries and found the endzone three times for the Wildcats. Senior quarterback
Tino Massa completed 15 of 20 for 206 yards and a touchdown. Massa's top targets were seniors
Todd Benedict (97 yards, 1 touchdown) and
Mason Novak (89 yards). Defensively, River Falls was led by junior linebacker
Nolan Hoepfl, who totalled 14 tackles (11 solo). When the teams met last season, Rice Lake earned a 32-21 win over River Falls.
Whitefish Bay (3-3) at West Bend West (5-1) Friday, 7 p.m. - Watch live NFHS Network | Tickets via GoFanWest Bend West earned a 21-8 victory against Nicolet last week, with senior running back
Noah Reinhart tallying 159 yards on 25 carries and scoring a pair of touchdowns. Senior linebacker
Sean McElroy led the way on defense with six tackles (3 solo), including 1.5 for a loss. In Whitefish Bay's 56-39 loss to Slinger (last year's Division 2 state champion), junior quarterback
Chase Wolter completed 13 of 18 for 228 yards and four touchdowns with sophomore receiver
Mace Miskel catching eight passes for 132 yards and two scores. The Blue Dukes also got key production from junior running back
Lateef Love, who finished with 19 carries for 206 yards and two touchdowns. Last season, Whitefish Bay defeated West Bend West 28-12.
Union Grove (6-0) at Waterford (4-2) Friday, 7 p.m. - Watch live NFHS Network Union Grove is one of two unbeaten teams in the Southern Lakes Conference with three weeks left in the regular season. The Broncos defeated Westosha Central 34-14 last week, with senior running back
Quintyn Martinez compiling 154 yards on 24 carries and scoring three touchdowns. Junior quarterback
Quinn Schultz threw for 184 yards and two touchdowns, both going to fellow junior
Justin Williamson, who finished with six catches for 113 yards. Waterford is coming off a 30-24 loss to Elkhorn. Sophomore quarterback
Hunter Schneiker passed for 174 yards and had a rushing touchdown for the Wolverines. In their meeting last season, Waterford earned a 28-21 victory against Union Grove.
Baldwin-Woodville (Baldwin) (6-0) at Altoona (5-1)Friday, 7 p.m. - Tickets via GoFanBaldwin-Woodville, last year's Division 4 state runner-up, has been dominating its opponents this season, outscoring them 274-45. The Blackhawks rolled past Ellsworth 48-8 last week, with junior quarterback
Joe Jensen completing 17 of 22 for 244 yards and two touchdowns. Their top receiver was senior
Brody Evertss, who caught four passes for 81 yards and two scores. Nine players had at least one carry for the Blackahwks, with senior
Drew Veenendall leading the way with 17 carries for 113 yards and a touchdown. Altoona is coming off a 36-0 win against Amery. The Railroaders' lone loss this season was against Osceola (31-22). Last season, Baldwin-Woodville cruised to a 41-6 win over Altoona.
Mondovi (6-0) at Regis (Eau Claire) (6-0) Friday, 7 p.m. - Tickets via GoFan
A battle for sole possession of first place in the Cloverbelt Conference. Regis has three shutouts and is winning by an average of 32 points per game, while Mondovi has one shutout and is winning by an average of 29 points. In Regis' 39-22 win over Fall Creek in Week 6, junior quarterback
Joey Brahmer threw for 184 yards and two touchdowns, with senior
Austin Rideout leading the receiving group with five catches for 114 yards and a score. The Ramblers did plenty of damage on the ground as well, with senior
Brody Tarbox leading the way with 129 yards and three touchdowns. In Mondovi's 64-12 rout of Neillsville/Granton, sophomore quarterback
Bode Falkner accounted for five touchdowns. He went six of nine for 140 yards and three touchdowns, and ran the ball three times for 44 yards and two scores. Sophomore running back
Cameron Gruber reached 125 yards on just three carries with a touchdown. In their meeting last season, Regis posted a 37-22 win over Mondovi.
Boyceville (6-0) at Spring Valley (4-2)Friday, 7 p.m.
Sole possession of first place in the Dunn-St. Croix Conference is on the line in this matchup. Boyceville is outsourcing its opponents 245-14 with three shutouts. In the Bulldogs' 54-6 win over Unity last week, senior quarterback
Carson Roemhild completed 14 of 20 for 197 yards and four touchdowns. Six players had at least one catch, led by senior wide receiver
Landyn Leslie, who caught six passes for 54 yards and a touchdown. Spring Valley earned a 29-14 victory over Elmwood/Plum City in Week 6, with junior running back
Asher Turner pacing the offense with 23 carries for 185 yards and two scores. The DSC foes met twice last season. Spring Valley edged Boyceville 19-18 in the regular season, and Boyceville defeated Spring Valley 21-6 in the postseason.
Potosi/Cassville (Potosi) (6-0) at Wauzeka-Steuben/Seneca (Wauzeka) (5-1)Friday, 7 p.m. Two of the top small school teams in the state meet in the Six Rivers contest. Potosi/Cassville, the Division 7 state runner-up last season, has held four of its six opponents to less than 10 points, including last week's 48-6 win over Iowa-Grant. Junior running backs Hunter White (141 yards, 2 touchdowns) and River Sahr (121 yards, 4 touchdowns) led the way for the Potosi/Cassville co-op. Wauzeka-Steuben/Seneca is coming off a 14-7 loss against Black Hawk/Warren(IL), which is tied atop the league standings with Potosi/Casville. Last season, Potosi/Cassville rolled to a 35-6 win over Wauzeka-Steuben/Seneca.
